Case reduction of maintenance costs of factory in Turnhout (Belgium)
The maintenance was done in the weekend shift, which meant that the communication between the production people and maintenance people was very poor. We introduced a planned maintenance down time during the week where maintenance personnel worked together with Production personnel. This improved dramatically the team work and communication.
Results:
- Increased efficiency from 65% to 87%.
- Improved team work between Production- and Maintenance department.
- Half of the third production shift was not anymore necessary.
